Youth Action for Better Lives

Youth Action for Better Lives

The Youth Action for Better Lives initiative focuses on strengthening civic participation, social awareness, and youth leadership through sustained community engagement. Youth leaders and youth groups associated with the programme will regularly undertake a range of community-based activities aimed at addressing local social issues and improving access to opportunities and entitlements.

These activities will include assisting community members with applications, follow-ups, and appeals related to government schemes and public entitlements; supporting the re-enrolment of school dropout students; and identifying and escalating cases of child marriage, gender-based violence, and social discrimination for appropriate intervention and support. Youth groups will also work on local civic issues by engaging with ward councillors, municipal authorities, and other administrative structures.

Empower Youth

The initiative will additionally support elderly community members living alone by helping them access healthcare, welfare schemes, and essential services. Social campaigns through street plays, wall paintings, awareness drives, film screenings, debates, quizzes, exposure visits, musical gatherings, and panel discussions will be organised around issues concerning youth, women, girls, and constitutional values.

Youth leaders will be trained to use data and storytelling tools for advocacy, including RTIs, public databases, archival research, digital tools, and primary field research. They will also support students—particularly girls and young women—with scholarship applications, examinations, and higher education opportunities while building their own skills in leadership, communication, digital literacy, and writing for social change.
